AVERAGE REPUBLICAN REJECTS PARTY LINE

Whenever I can, I ask my Republican friends these questions.

Do you really want to live in a place where almost everybody carries a gun on his waist, a concealed weapon or in her purse?

Do you really want to change Medicare to a voucher system?

Do you really believe that health care for everyone in this country is a bad idea?

Do you really believe that a right-to-work state will create more jobs and higher pay?

Do you really believe that voter fraud is rampant, and we need tougher voter registration laws and policing at the polls?

Do you really believe that we should not show a path for citizenship for the over 11 million illegal immigrants living in this country?

Do you really want the government to force women carrying a terribly deformed fetus to take that pregnancy to term?

Believe me, almost always, the answer I get to all those questioned is “no.” So my question is, “Explain to me why are you still a Republican?”

The answer I usually get is, “I just don’t like Obama and big government.”

That to me is not reasonable nor an adequate answer. And I do not know why anyone would vote for representatives in government who promote these ideas.
